Daudet's windmill
_____________________________________________

The famous writer Alphonse Daudet wrote “Les Lettres de mon Moulin” (“Letters from my windmill”) inspired by this windmill in Fontvielle. The village was named after a 12th century fountain, now located in the town center (vielle means “old,” font means “fountain”).
The mill was built in 1814, and ground wheat for 100 years. It stopped working in 1915.
