Saint Rémy de Provence
_____________________________________________
Saint Rémy de Provence, set at the foot of the Alpilles mountains in the Bouche du
Rhône, is best known as the village that inspired post-impressionist Vincent van Gogh.
Saint Rémy has preserved it's authentic
provençal lifestyle with quaint little streets, offering an architectural history dating from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The Saint Paul de Mausole Monastery, housing van Gogh in the asylm from 1889-1890, has one of the most beautiful cloisters in Provence. The charming back roads of the Alpilles mountains are an invitation to discover a landscape with breathtaking quality of light.
